BIOTHINKING
Biothinking is a very interesting and, in a positive way, provocative
site by a chap called Edwin Datchefski and it focuses on product
design. Many beautiful products have an underlying ugliness
that is hidden to the consumer and is often invisible to the
designer as well. This site reveals these environmental and
social impacts and shows how they can be re-designed to create
products that have a ‘total-beauty’. Lots of areas
on the site are of positive use but I particularly like the
‘sustainable day’ guide.

HOUSE INFORMATION |
BRICKS
AND BRASS
When you want to decorate your period house, you probably visit
your local DIY store to buy your paints, unaware of the impact
they will have on your home. Most outlets stock the popular
ranges of conventional paints, including ’heritage’
colour ranges but few sell ecological or pure traditional paints.
They, like many homeowners, are still unaware of the importance
of using these paints on period properties. This is an in-depth
website for information on period houses, explaining what paints
were originally used when your property was built. Find out
here the answer to this question and more!

| ALLERGIES |
ALLERGYMATTERS
The owners, having tried many mainstream and alternative remedies
and practitioners, and making some important changes to their
lifestyle, were able to manage their symptoms with minimal use
of medication. Allergymatters aims to promote good health to
allergy sufferers through knowledge and up-to-date information,
advice and recommended products. The website was designed as
a one-stop resource, to enable customers to take charge of their
own symptoms.

The website has a gamut of good information relating to allergies
along with award recommended items, no paint yet but I’m
trying to change that!
